"Suit Club, Renamed…" — A Column by Masahiro Takaki, General Affairs Department, Okudaya Giken

Thank you for reading.
This is Takaki from the General Affairs Department.
Following our previous post, this article will report on the second gathering of “that” event—based on the concept of “dining out wearing suits”—which was held on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

The participants included returning members Akama, Yamaguchi, Munakata, and myself (Takaki), who were joined by Hirokawa from Manufacturing Section 2, Self-Propelled & PL Frame Team. We also had a special guest: the proprietress (“Mama”) of the bar we were visiting. It turned out to be a day with quite an impressive lineup!
We gathered at the nearest station at 11:00 AM.

Everyone looked fantastic in their seasonal outfits.
Our first stop was our now-familiar staple: the Semba Center Building. We headed straight for lunch, kicking things off with a quick toast…!

We were going full throttle right from noon!
With our stomachs full, we strode confidently through the Semba Center Building.
We dropped by a menswear shop, where Yamaguchi spotted a reasonably priced shirt in a great color.

Our commemorative photo turned out perfect, didn’t it?
As dinnertime approached, we headed back to Abeno to kick off our dinner party!

By the way, did any of you happen to notice that the title of this article says, “Suit Club, Renamed…”?
That’s right! We had a discussion about adopting a new name to better highlight our group’s unique character. In fact, it was written exactly like this on the invitation:

That’s right, the name is none other than “Sebiro-kai” (The Retro Suit Club)!
It has a nice old-school ring to it, doesn’t it?
During our dinner party, we held a so-called “Extraordinary Special Meeting” to ask all the members for their verdict on the new name. And the result? …

It was approved unanimously with a round of applause!
We kindly ask for your continued support for the newly renamed “Sebiro-kai” (formerly the Suit Club).
…Oh, but it’s totally fine if you still want to call us the Suit Club!
Afterwards, we headed to a local snack bar for our “after-party”…

Walking, drinking, and singing—it turned out to be a truly fantastic day.
To wrap things up in a way that perfectly suits the name “Sebiro-kai,” we leave you with this photo of Munakata, looking just like a popular singer from the early Showa era.
(A masterpiece shot and edited by Hirokawa!)
Thank you so much for reading to the end.
