On Friday, June 27, 2025, at 18:15, an event called “Ongaku Base” was held at OKUDAYA BASE—the showroom café located inside Okudaya Giken’s headquarters—in celebration of OKUDAYA BASE’s 5th anniversary. Employees and related partners gathered in person, while members from overseas sites, including Malaysia and China, joined online. Blending real and virtual, this special evening centered on “music” and became a meaningful moment that truly connected hearts.

A Heartfelt “Omotenashi” Toast to Open the Evening

The event officially began with a powerful and warm toast by Sales Department Manager, Mr. Katsuki. “Tonight, you’re all the stars! Let’s enjoy ourselves!” His words set the tone, and employees naturally began chatting—thus a pleasant evening got underway.

Taste Test & Vote: “Choose the OKUDAYA BASE Flavor”

The highlight at the beginning of the event was a tasting session of new products from “Misago Coffee” a coffee shop we are regularly grateful to. Two seasonal blends were offered: Vanilla Flavor and Strawberry Flavor—both rich in aroma and character, prompting participants to exclaim, “This is hard to choose!”
In the end, the Vanilla Flavor narrowly took the prize. It will now become a standard offering at the OKUDAYA BASE coffee stand. We can’t wait to enjoy a meaningful chat over that cup!

A Musical Connection Through Requests

Next came the musical segment—the highlight of the evening.
Employees submitted their “one song that means a lot to me.” Mr. Isogai from the Development Strategy Department served as MC, introducing each selection along with personal anecdotes—songs tied to life’s milestones or cherished memories.
From Japanese classics like Ratts & Star and Takao Murashita to western hits by The Bangles and Sting—this cross-cultural, genre-defying hour wrapped the room in warmth and nostalgia.

Peak Energy! Special DJ Set by Okuda CEO

Midway through the event, the atmosphere reached its peak with a surprise DJ set by Okuda CEO!
Supported by professional staff for top-notch audio–visual production, the evening transformed into a live-music experience—rhythmic mixes, lights, beat. Employees couldn’t help but dance, swag, and beam with joy.
“Wow, President is amazing!”
Spontaneous cheers and applause filled the air—it was a classic OKUDAYA moment: hearts united, distances erased.

As the night progresses, the classics echo again.

As the night drew to a close, we revisited the request hour.
This second wave featured 37 unforgettable tracks—from PERSONZ, Michael Jackson, Foo Fighters, Oasis, to Hong Kong’s legendary band Beyond. The energy soared, creating a festival-like crescendo.
Mr. Isogai closed the evening with heartfelt words, and the event came to a peaceful end.

Post-Festival Tranquility & Renewed Energy

With the music fading and lights dimming, participants lingered with content smiles and a touch of wistfulness.
“It’s time to do our best again tomorrow,” we all felt.
