Department Introduction Article: Manufacturing Department, Production Control Unit

We, the Production Control Unit, are part of the Manufacturing Department and are responsible for the core of manufacturing activities: creating “production plans” and managing manufacturing processes. Additionally, using our company’s core system, we handle the deduction of various parts for “special-purpose machines” tailored to customer requests and ensure smooth production instructions are issued to all departments involved in manufacturing.
Since we must have a broad understanding of the processes for all products, product knowledge is extremely important. In managing these processes, we must understand various tasks, including welding and assembly, and be able to visualize the structure of that information in our minds. Therefore, gathering information from the skilled craftsmen on the shop floor is vital; it is no exaggeration to say that listening to people is part of our job.
In addition, we are responsible for unpacking, checking, and repacking products that arrive in boxes from our overseas group companies. Depending on the product, some items can weigh up to 50kg, so individuals with great physical strength are more than welcome.
Currently, we operate with a small team of only three members—Aoto, Uchiyama, and Kunimoto—so we are constantly on the move, rushing back and forth between the office and the production floor every day.
If there is a “monster” out there like Major Leaguer Shohei Ohtani—someone who possesses computer skills, product knowledge, system expertise, and superhuman strength all in one—please come and knock on the door of our Production Control Unit. We are waiting for you!
This time, we would like to introduce the ace of the Production Control Unit, Mr. Gozo Aoto.
I am Aoto from the Production Control Unit. This time, I’d like to share a bit about my hobby: traveling.
During the three-day weekend in July 2025, I went on a family trip to Sendai. While I usually rent a car and drive around the Kansai or Chugoku regions, this time we flew from Itami Airport to Sendai. The temperature there was about 7°C lower than in Osaka, making it a very pleasant and comfortable trip.
Besides traveling, I also love eating. My main objective this time was to try the local beef tongue. It was much thicker and more satisfying than the beef tongue I usually eat—it was absolutely delicious. We also visited an aquarium during our trip, which was incredibly beautiful and moving.
On the second day, we stayed at a famous ryokan in Matsushima called “Taikanso.” The food was excellent, and the inn itself was stunning. We rented a car in Sendai city to get to Matsushima and took a sightseeing boat to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area, which was truly impressive. The three-day, two-night trip flew by in an instant, leaving me with wonderful memories and a strong desire to visit Sendai again.
