Album I Was Into Back Then:⑥Hi-Fi Shinsho (Sotaisei Riron)

Introduction

I am Konno, a member of the management team at OKUDAYA CONNECT.
Last time, as the fifth music album I was obsessed with back then, I mentioned “Minna Normal” (Gesu no Kiwami Otome.).

This time, I would like to introduce an album by a band that personally made me feel, “The guitar in this band is amazing!”

Although I had been curious about bands with a cool bass sound…

Since I used to play the bass during my student days, one of the key factors in whether I liked a song or a band was whether I found the bass to be cool. It might have also had something to do with whether I could play it in a cover band (although songs with a high level of difficulty were out of the question).

One of the bands that the senior students covered at the campus live shows back then (which mainly consisted of cover bands) was Sotaisei Riron.
While thinking to myself, “What kind of band name is that…”
and seeing the song title “LOVE Zukkyun” and thinking, “What kind of song title is that…”
I was surprised and realized, “No wonder they are so popular!”

Thinking to myself, “I really need to listen to this properly!”, I headed to the CD rental shop.

In reality, I wasn’t quite in such high spirits.。

At that time, I listened extensively to “Chiffon Shugi”, “Hi-Fi Shinsho”, and “Synchroniciteen”, but this was the one I was obsessed with the most.

The first track, “Tereto”, is… just so good.
Compared to the other two releases, that is the sole reason why I chose “Hi-Fi Shinsho” as my number one.

It is not just “Tereto”, as “Hi-Fi Shinsho” as a whole album has a strong “immersive” atmosphere, which is also great.

Personally, there are many times when I feel that “the bass is the core of this band or this song”, but when it comes to this album by Sotaisei Riron, “the guitar is the core.”

…Despite saying all this, my absolute favorite song is “Ohayo OOPARTS”.
